How Do I Stop Feeling Selfish When I love myself?

Q:  This may seem like a stupid question but how do I stop the feeling of being selfish when I am trying to start a new habit of self-care?  The reason I am trying to do this is because I have been feeling so overwhelmed and frustrated with is impacting my overall health and wellness.  I’ve gained 15 pounds in the last 6 weeks and am staying up until 3 am.   It’s not good for me, my family, my friends or my clients.   Please help!      read more…

Summertime and intention settings go hand-in-hand.   We all set the intention to do things during the summer between picnics, road trips and weekends away with family and friends.  Quite often those projects you decided to tackle earlier in the year, the new years resolutions you made, are set aside while we enjoy the summertime.   Our commitment begins to wane and our schedules no longer have consistency.

With summer also comes the mindset of procrastination. Summer provide so many ways that we can really slip into the mindset of procrastination. The #1 way to shift that mindset is the to take action. Every summer when I go home to visit my parents; my mom always ends up saying that I need to explain to my dad what I do for a living.  He is a farmer and gets what it is like to be your own boss and how hard it can be to provide for yourself at times.  He worries about his oldest daughter.
