Get to Know Michelle Aris…
Over the past 13 years, Michelle has helped hundreds of families create their own dream yards with her beautiful designs. She enjoys creating living art with what she calls “painting with plants”. It is her desire to create a legacy of love for the environment.
Michelle is a passionate public speaker often giving talks to large crowds about aeroponic gardening and plant design. After completing the plant bed restoration design in 2016 for the Calgary Golf and Country Club, one of Canada’s most exclusive golf courses, Michelle was asked to speak at the AGSA conference in Canmore Alberta.
When Michelle is not designing she likes to mentor and teaches plant bed design through her many workshops. Michelle is a wife and mom of four and yet always finds time to give back by volunteering in her community.
In June 1998 Michelle Graduated Valedictorian of her high school and went on to graduate from Mount Royal University with honors and a diploma in Community Rehabilitation in 2001. During this time, Michelle struggled with a reading disability, worked two jobs and raised her daughter as a single mother.
Since then Michelle has gone on to accomplish, passing the Woody Plant Identification course and the University of Calgary Landscape Design course. Currently, Michelle is working on obtaining her Landscape Industry Certified Landscape Designer designation in the hopes of becoming one of the first certified female landscape designers in Canada with a learning disability.
Michelle has worked and studied alongside her mother-in-law, Wendy Aris, founder of Aris Landscape Design, for eight years. Michelle shares her passion for her craft and how Aris Landscape Design has been a very successful business for over 13 years. She attributes much of the success of Aris Landscape Design to the diversity in the clients they serve.
